No clue. I bet it would run but not all that well. I hope these comments on the rest of the Studio will calm some of the "sky is falling" pessimists. I'm not saying that FCPX is a home run yet but I'm more than happy to leave my torch and pitchfork in the shed based on what's been demoed so far.
Don't know what these people are talking about. It will run fine on a maxed out 13" air. It's not nearly the same as a maxed out Mac Pro, but it will work fine. These people are just blowing steam without a clue. No one really knows but you should be fine. That's what I have after all!

The Apple Tax has not gotten 'out of control'.
Apple has always maintained a 30% profit margin
Therefore the tax has ALWAYS been about 25%.
Well, if you are not getting hardware with that money what are you getting?
Does Mac OSX have no value to you?

I have no need for gas guzzler to haul kids and material around, but if I did I have the personal liberty to make that purchase. Kinda like apple products, the more choices and configurations that there are, the more ideal they become for the many different types of consumers.

I think that this is a really good idea, if they can get a large enough screen. Add in a few tools like highlighting and a dictionary, and I might consider replacing my nano.

There are many possibilities for the graphics of the Macbook. The GMA950 is at about the end of the road. Maybe we'll see Intel's X3000. If not, one of Nvidia's or ATi's integrated solutions would be nice.
I hope we see the Intel X3000 in the next MacBook. The GMA950 is crippling the MacBook and Mac Mini; it offers mediocre 3D performance, requires a portion of system memory and does not support widescreen resolutions for composite output. The X3000 would not solve the memory issue but it will improve 3D and maybe support widescreen analogue output.
I hope we see the Intel X3000 in the next MacBook. They will allow you to be grandfathered in as long as you wish, and as long as you continue to pay your monthly bill. Even when you extend a new 2 year contract and buy a new phone, you are agreeing to keep the service for 2 years, but they will allow you to stay on your original plan. That's how we are allowed to have unlimited data and iPhone 4's.

When I saw the iPod, I bought APPL stock at $20/share. It is now by far my biggest stock holding in terms of $$$.
Just had to check it: iPod was released Oct 23rd 2001 for $399. Assuming 8.25% sales tax that would be $431.92. That bought 23.8 AAPL shares at the closing prices of $18.14. There was a split, so you would have 47.6 shares worth $330.67 at close on March 18th, for a total of $15,740.
I conclude that all those people buying iPods had not the slightest clue how the Apple share price would develop :D

Beyond all the questions and concerns about Wal-Mart's treatment of its employees and some of its deceptive practices and its tendency to sap small communities dry and wipe out smaller, local businesses (all of which I have witnessed with my own eyes so don't accuse me of quoting any lefty Web sites)... beyond all that, you think anti-competitive behavior is just "a business being a business." I don't think it is. In fact, it runs counter to everything I've been told about how the U.S. works. If you really believe what you're saying, I ask that you reconsider your point of view. You have very little support for the argument that one company making threats against another industry to stop a potential competitor is just "being a business." I haven't heard anything about Xcode 2.4 anywhere apart from here. are you sure about it? i really don't think it has been released. been checking as much as i can everywhere, and i've seen nothing. might be getting it mixed up with Xcode 3.0 that's going to be in Leopard? maybe?

Personally I'll be disappointed to see iPhone cameras going much above 5 MP. Image quality and creative options are limited by other factors in a device this small, so what's the point in wasting additional storage space for all the extra pixels? If I want to take serious photos I'll use my Canon SLR.

I'll make this point again... How is what Apple is doing any different than what Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony do with approvals for applications on their devices? If anything, Apple should be commended for giving everyone access to the development environment at a significantly reduced cost. The reason for the approval process is clear: they want to do QA before the product is released because if something bad happens, every news organization will feature headlines about it for a week.
I don't recall massive outcry from the devs on those other platforms. Why do you think that is?

the exciting part is how do-able this seems to be. My Treo has a touch sensitive screen. The whole screen can view photos. Or, depending on which other mode you're in--phone dialing? contact search?--a touch on a part of the screen might dial a "2" or select a single contact and display its data; squeezing's already incorporated into the mighty mouse; some of the other features, like different responses depending upon how many fingers touch the screen, already operate on the MBP and MB touchpads, and the linking of different modes (a la phone and contact/pda are already linked on my Treo. Etc., etc.
In fact, maybe the question might be how different the apple patent is from what the Treo does: The treo screen displays icons that can be selected by touch to select a contact manager, or a phone mode, or picture viewer, or web browser, etc., and in each of those modes the various sections of the screen display touch-sensitive choices unique to that mode.
At any rate, I don't know if this multi-featured device is the subject of apple's sept 12 announcement. But i think apple has the potential to incorporate the features of this patent into hugely significant new device(s). The applications are all too obvious. I hope they do. Steve Jobs has always seemed disinclined to offer any product that's just a lot like existing hardware, thus the lack of an iPhone. The ability to incorporate phone and music player and video viewer and....(?) create the opportunity for apple to again be a pioneer--to introduce to us products we didn't realize we wanted, or that do things others had done but in dramatically better ways--as he did with the iPod.

Almost all products that are manufactured by Foxconn are produced by hand. When labor is essentially free it's going to be cheaper than using a machine.

As a MBP owner who bought a rev1 model right when they came out -- and has been sending it in to fix its many, many problems constantly, and is now seeing it lag behind the iMacs in speed and power -- I feel like I bought a lemon. Thanks, Apple, for pissing in my face.
I feel the same way with my black MacBook, which is awaiting a DHL box. I guess there was something behind those who say they'll wait for Rev B, afterall :D .
