hay bed linen

I normally prefer bed linen that is white, but this one from Hay is cute (via Fine Ting og Sjokolade). Even though it's not the right shade of yellow ;-)

Höganäs by Front

When I first started collecting cups and plates and stuff, Swedish Höganäs was my brand of choice and blue was my favorite color. I'm not so fond of that blue anymore; I prefer white, especially for the dinner plates. I'm still very much fond of Höganäs' products though. I love the simple design and the details.

A while ago I read this post on Emmas designblogg about Höganäs' collaboration with Front. I think it looks great! Still simple yet elegant, with the right attention to detail. I especially like this big bowl. Monocle has also written about this special collaboration. (For more information, read Emma's post.)

Mano

These Mano cups from Kähler have been around on lots of blogs lately. I wouldn't mind having a few of them in my own cupboard - such great shape and the happy colors!

Kubus

As I mentioned here, I like my unpolished brass candle holders. They are the only candle holders I have, so they all fit nicely together. But after seeing this simple yet elegant candle holder above on different blogs, especially in Avdelingen's new header, I might rethink my brass band.

Kubus is designed by Danish Mogens Lassen and is produced by by Lassen.

From the by Lassen website:

The classic Kubus candlestick was designed in 1962. Intended as a rebellion against the ornate, elaborate home, it is informed by a sense of functionalism and mathematical precision. The result was the iconic square-shaped lacquered steel frame topped with candle holders, a design today prized and admired the world over for its elegant simplicity.

More from the website; on Mogens Lassen's inspiration:

The basic Bauhaus design principles feature geometric shapes: The Square, the Triangle, and the Circle. The Bauhaus school was also a proponent of clean lines and simplified forms for all design.

The original aim of Bauhaus was to revolt against the ornate decorative style of mainstream architecture, design and art prior to 1919. Everything was to be more simple, functional, and not least, honest – and it was here that Mogens Lassen took his inspiration.

branches

I think it's time to update my cushion collection, and I wouldn't mind one of these by the Danish company By nord. I can even buy it online at Nordic Elements.

We Are Family

Brilliant idea!

Designed by Ole Jensen and Claus Mølgaard (via
Nytt Rom). Photo by Jeppe Gudmundsen Holmgreen

From the beginning it was the ambition to create a piece of furniture with a new and spontaneous functionality, with manufacturing and material selection based on real environmental analysis. The manufactured sofas are prototypes. Shown for the first time at the exhibition "It’s a small world" at the Danish Design Centre,Copenhagen, from August 28 2009 to January 31 2010.

happy

The colors of this stool makes me happy - and happy is the name of it!

Happy is a little stackable and three leged stool. Its design is creative and clean with an elegant meeting between oak and the top surface. Happy is perfect as an extra seat or a small table.
