High School of The Dead adalah manga serial yang ditulis oleh Daisuke Sato dan diilustrasikan oleh Shoji Sato. Bercerita sekelompok siswa SMA yang terjebak di tengah kiamat, zombie dan bencana nuklir

Seorang gadis muda melawan zombie dijalan demi keselamatan dirinya selama peristiwa bencana di seluruh dunia yang dikenal sebagai "Wabah". Dipimpin oleh Takashi Komuro sophomore, sekelompok korban bencana yang terdiri dari enam orang dan anjing kecil, menciptakan sebuah tim gestalt dengan satu tujuan: bertahan hidup. Para penulis menggunakan terminologi role-playing untuk mengkategorikan atribut masing-masing karakter. Takashi Komuro sebagai pemimpin tim. Miyamoto Rei, Saeko Busujima, dan Kohta Hirano dianggap pejuang karena kemampuan luar biasa mereka dengan senjata; Saya Takagi digambarkan sebagai wizard karena kecerdasan dan keterampilannya; Shizuka Marikawa sebagai seorang dokter.
