Here is some recent work I have done for my part time employer, the ad agency ASKO Reklame.

For AMFI Voss shopping center I...

...interviewed the manager about their new "manifest"...

...I took this portrait to illustrate the purpose of the manifest...

...and I interviewed and photographed the owners of the new Thai food grocery store.

For AMFI Stord shopping center I...

...sourced photos for this inspiration spread about springy outdoor life and I wrote the small text.

For Blomsterdalen senter I...

...asked four random people what they like best about summer...

...I borrowed products from each of the nine shops at the shopping center and made this summer inspiration spread together with photographer Gustaf Bratt...

...and finally I wrote about barbecuing.

Budapest | our hosts

Now that I'm soon done with the Easter holiday photos (only one post left), I'm finally ready to tell you a bit more about my recent trip to Budapest, Hungary. In fact I'm working on my article from this trip this week. It will be published in the Norwegian travel magazine Reis (where my Vinho Verde was published earlier this year).

I was there for work with a group of three other Norwegian magazine journalists. Our hosts were Emöke Flakstad (to the left) and Andrea Vándor of the newly established company Bellanor. Bellanor is a travel company specializing in beauty and spa travels to Budapest for Scandinavian women. We were invited to Budapest to sample parts of Bellanor's program.

According to Budapest.com, Budapest holds the title "City of Spas" since the year 1934, as it has more thermal and medicinal water springs than any other capital city in the world. There are 118 springs in Budapest and 15 public thermal baths.

By the way, this is my second visit to Budapest and Hungary. My first visit was with my family in October 1999.

a new astridhagen.no

My friends Jördis and Mathias in Berlin did a great job helping me with my first astridhagen.no website. But after about 3,5 years it was time for something new. I used virb.com to build the site. It's a great tool for a person like me who don't know any programing but still want to have some control over my site. Astridhagen.no is a portfolio for a sample of my writing and photography. Please have a look if you are interested.

work

This is the first job I have done for my new employer, the ad agency ASKO Reklame, where I'm hired in a half time position; texts and a photoshoot for the Sletten shopping center magazine.

I chose which products to feature in the photoshoot and styled the winter/early spring themed images, shot by Vidar Langeland. I also wrote the texts.

I interviewed and photographed the ladies in the bookstore Norli...

...and a couple of the people at the seafood counter at Meny.

By the way, I still work freelance too.

Last year I wrote an article for NæringsEiendom (a magazine focusing on commercial buildings) about the insurance company Tryg's change from enclosed private offices to an open plan landscape, and the company's change of organizational culture. Portrait photo by me, other photos by Tor Erik H. Mathiesen.

Åmot Operafarm is launched

Do you remember my posts about Åmot Gard in December? The amazing hosts of this very special farm, Steinar, Yngve and Frida the dog (above), hired me as the copywriter for their new website. Yesterday was the launch of their new brand - Åmot Operafarm - their new design concept and the website. The launch was done with great style; sommalier Arne Egge chose the wines, chef Christel Eide made the nibblies and people were super happy.

Hisdal + Holcroft are the designers, Dagrun Reiakvam has taken most of the photos on the website, Kyber Kommunikasjon has built the website, and I have written the texts (they are not yet available in English, the translator is working on it). I will give you a heads up when the site is available in English. Until then you should browse through the site and be inspired. In fact, just a few of weeks ago CNN recommended Åmot Operafarm as one of the world's top destinations for 2011. Needless to say, this has been a very inspiring project to work on.

In March last year I was in South Africa and learnt about Amarula. I wrote an article about it for Norwegian Apéritif and you can read it here (in Norwegian). Inger Marie Grini took the beautiful photos. (I took the one above here.)

Here are my South Africa blog posts and here is the South Africa set on Flickr.

Åmot Gard

Minolta SRT 101, Fuji Superia 1600

I think I have mentioned before that my job as a freelance journalist and copywriter can be very varied. One day I interview local politicians about the future of Bergen, the next day I interview young professionals about their jobs, and the third day I travel to Vinho Verde in Portugal or Parma in Italy to write travel and food stories. (The fourth day I wonder were my next job will come from...)

This time I got in my car and drove ca 3,5 hours north of Bergen to the so called opera farm Åmot Gard in Bygstad. Steinar and Yngve have hired me as their copywriter for their new website and I visited them at the farm this past weekend to do research. Until the website (designed by Hisdal + Holcroft) is launched I won't tell you much more, but I will show you a few photos.

PS: I had a fantastic weekend! I wish you all could visit Åmot!

home work

I have some busy days with lots of interviews and articles to do for Universum. I hardly ever work at home anymore, only in busy times like this. In the productive hours I listen to my upbeat party mix at Spotify (find it here) whilst enjoying my guilty pleasures of instant mashed potatoes with sausage and waaaay too much vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce.

What are you up to today?

work

Here is some rather recent work I have done; articles for a magazine called NæringsEiendom Interiør that focuses on interior design for workspaces.

For the first article I interviewed interior architect MNIL Hanne Arvik in Metropolis arkitektur & design AS about how to make the most of the office's outdoor space.

The second article is about use of modern art in office buildings. I interviewed the CEO of Bergen Kunsthall, Solveig Øvstebø, for this article.

The last article is about an old respectable party venue that has been rebuilt by Eke Interiørarkitekter and Rambøll. Photos by Pål Hoff.
