Longleat forest, part II

Another thing I loved about Longleat Forest, except the trees and the light, was all the gorgeous green. The tree trekking was pretty awesome too, but also pretty scary.

summer house

I wish I could say we are in the market to buy a summer house, because I really fell for this. It's at the island of Herna in Øygarden, ca 1 hour drive from Bergen. More photos on Finn.no (photographer unknown).

Happy Birthday Hayle!

Here's to the best sister and friend a girl could ever ask for!  Hope your special day is as fabulous as you are! T xx

What better way to celebrate than with Blueberry Chocolate Cake and French Macaroons!

Inoka shoots film

Why do you shoot film, Inoka?

Because it makes everything seems better and alright - the color, the light and the atmosphere.

Back from the upholsterer...

I just picked up these newly upholstered cushions on Friday and couldn't be happier with how they turned out!

This is my absolutely favourite fabric at the moment!  They will be eventually living in the bedroom but for now, they have their own little place in my newly renovated downstairs area.

I also got this black and white outdoor mattress cover back from the workroom, which looks lovely out by the pool!

And this is a sneak peak of the main part of the new downstairs area!  We are still waiting on built in book shelves around our eco-fireplace and a built in TV cabinet down the other end but I'm being patient!  It's so nice to have our second living area back...I really missed it!

Well these are some of the projects that have been keeping me busy lately, hopefully there will be more time for posts now!  Tracey xx

Ben & Phoebe's Daybed

I recently helped my cousin and his gorgeous fiance {they just got engaged on the weekend} with the cushioning on this lovely daybed which they purchased from Cotswold for their beach house. We selected an array of brightly coloured exterior fabrics for the scatter cushions and a trusty navy and white stripe exterior fabric for the seat cushions and voila this is the result. I just love it and apparently they do too!!

white wedding

Today our friends Espen and Theresa are getting married, so it feels right to show you a couple of photos of white roses from our July garden. Sølve planted them last year, so this year is the first with flowers. Btw, I had white roses in my wedding bouquet.

Hardangervidda hiking, 2010 edition

One week ago we went hiking at Hardangervidda with my parents, just like we did last year. This time we parked one car at Tinnhølen and one at Halne Fjellstova. Friday started with a boat trip across Halnefjorden and a 3 hours hike to Rauhelleren, where we also stayed last year. It's one of my favorite cabins at Hardangervidda. After a perfect Saturday morning breakfast with homemade bread and homemade rhubarb jam, we started the 7 hours (ca 24 km) hike to Sandhaug. It was a really beautiful hike, although our feet were a bit sore when we arrived at Sandhaug - but it was nothing a warm shower and a cold beer couldn't fix. Sunday we hiked the 3,5 hours to our Saab at Tinnhølen. The very smart mr and mrs Mykletun had left their car key in mum and dad's Audi, so dad had to get a lift with strangers to Halne to get the Audi and the Saab key, and then come back to us. Our clever plan with one car in either end of the hike kind of failed... Other than that, it was an absolutely fantastic hike! PS: I saw a tiny mouse swim. Have you ever seen that?

Friday Flowers

This morning, whilst running very late for school drop off, I raced around my new old garden and cut some foliage for an arrangement I was wanting to create for the shop today. Here is the result above. The arrangement sits on a beautiful oval Antique table which actually just sold to one of my lovely clients this afternoon. I am loving big glass vases filled with masses of leaves at the moment. Luckily my garden seems to have the perfect plants for this type of arrangement.
